Mary C. Espino is the proud daughter of Cuban immigrants. She was born in New York and raised in Southeast Florida. Mary is fluent in Spanish. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995 and to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 1996 and the Middle District of Florida in 2004.
Mary attended Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in Davie, Florida, where she received a Juris Doctor Degree, Summa Cum Laude in 1995. While at Nova, Mary was an Associate Editor of the Nova Law Review and runner-up of the First Year Law Student Moot Court Competition. Mary graduated law school in the top 3% of her class and attained Dean’s List status every semester.
Prior to law school, Mary attended Saint Thomas University to earn her bachelor’s degree in arts and political science, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1992. While in Saint Thomas, Mary was President of the Political Action Club and participated in the Pre-Law Society.
In addition to practicing marital and family law for over three decades, Mary is a Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator. Mary will approach your case with the empathy, attention and dedication it deserves. She understands that going through a family law case is a stressful, life-altering time in your life and will do what is necessary to assist you in navigating the complexities of the legal system. Although Mary believes in the process of mediation, she is a top-notch litigator having tried countless cases. She has a diverse litigation background that includes not only marital and family matters but also general civil and commercial litigation. Mary has also handled many commercial and residential real estate transactions during the span of her career.
